Okay, working under the assumption that lighting is affecting the coloration, my best guess is Eacles imperialis. They are native to Quebec and have a wide range of brown-ish markings on yellow wings/bodies. This one is likely a Butterfly Since The Day My Mom Got Her Wings I Have Never Been The Same Shirt with very sparse markings. Though I’m shakier on its sex than I am on the species, given that no other moths listed as native to Quebec on a number of lists seemed even close in coloration. From what I read, this species exhibits sexual dimorphism. The males have more brown markings than the females. Most of the pictures of females that I could find had much thinner lines of brown on them compared to your photo.

This is actually the first bug I’ve ever seen that I truly think is beautiful. I can’t help but be really creeped out by bugs, even most butterflies, but this one is actually beautiful to me. It does look like one but, seriously, these guys are ALL OVER South-East Asia. In the 80s, we went on a family vacation in Myanmar. And was staying in this hilly town called Pyin Oo Lwin.
